This week has been a blur! I've had a lot going on with class, including an English paper due next week and a biology test earlier this week, my house, friends, meetings, work and of course theatre! Opening night of Approaching Zanzibar is soon approaching, with only a few more rehearsals before the run! I feel as if a day hasn't passed in the last few weeks where I haven't been in the theatre between classes or at night. It isn't so bad though, rehearsal provides a great outlet for getting energy out, even if it does take up lots of time! In the show I play a nine year old girl, which means I get to be goofy, whine, complain, fight with my brother, play with stuffed animals and do all sorts of fun stunts, like stand on my head and jump on a trampoline! Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of work, with memorizing lines and dedicating a good amount of time. A lot of times it cuts into other activities, like homework, sleep, fun and even class! The other day I was twenty minutes late to my biology lab, and I know tech and run next week will take up even more time! But the benefits outweigh the costs, and I generally really enjoy it. My high school didn't have much of a drama department, so being involved in Players and RU theater has been a new and fun experience for me. I'm very excited for the show! So remember, Approaching Zanzibar runs next week, Thursday through Sunday, and I encourage all to come see it!

Cameron Summers, Courtney LaChance, and Sean Furey, my onstage family, setting up for another glorious scene!
So what am I doing on this beautiful Saturday afternoon?! I'm filling my free time with laundry and a Shakespeare paper. But tonight is Rockhurst's homecoming dance, so I know tonight with be lots of fun! This past week has been filled with all sorts of events in honor of homecoming, such as a mardi gras themed carnival and Rockhurst Day.

Julia Saucedo and Nicole Sinderman, two of my flatmates, posing with a "float" at Rockhurst Day!
