I think it is safe to say that the wintery weather has finally settled on us for good. But what better time than the beginning of the Holiday season? This past week, from Wednesday until today, has been Thanksgiving break, and what a wonderful, and needed, break it was! It started out a bit of a bummer, as I was horribly sick with a stomach virus Monday and Tuesday. But, thanks to the powers of sleep and some TLC from my great friends, I am much better now! Again I watched as all my roommates packed their bags and left me behind, but I was not alone for long. I spent my Thanksgiving in lovely Lincoln, Nebraska, where there was snow on the ground! Though I have experience snow throughout various stages and states in my life, and though I survived the winter last year, the cold and the snow still surprise me! But, back to break, I came back Friday evening and spent time with my sister and her fiesty cat, whom she adopted from a local vet over fall break. This weekend has been a blur of sleeping in, cramming in fun, and finishing homework. My developmental psych professor gave us an extra credit option over break, so I've spent a good deal of time working on that. I also have a presentation coming up for my biology class, a reading for my Shakespeare class, and the last of all my papers before finals due in my Women in Culture class this coming up Thursday. Oh, the multifaceted joys of college :)
As the semester is clearly winding down, I think it is safe to say that I have truly had a great 18 weeks. I've been incredibly busy, but what is college with all the excitement, joy, stress and fun of a busy schedule! Hopefully, I won't jinx myself before finals!
For all you snow birds out there like me, here's a reminder of the beautiful days of summer and fall we've left behind!
