welcome back!

...to school, campus life, and freezing weather! I had a wonderfully long, restful and warm winter break only to return to the busy, chaotic and cold lifestyle that I love! Though it was hard to leave home to come back, it has been nice to reunite with friends and roommates and fill my days with classes and meetings. My semester started out not in Kansas City, but in Omaha, Nebraska for the 40th annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, or KCACTF. That's right, I missed the first week of classes to compete, go to workshops, see several wonderful plays and perform, and this year we were hosted for free, all thanks to the generous Student Activities Board, or SAB! It was a little rough missing the beginning of the semester, and I have plenty of make-up work to attend to now, I really had a good time diving further into the world of stage and theatre. So, thank you SAB and Rockhurst Theatre!

Gathering outside our hotel rooms at the 40th KCACTF!

Since returning my roommates and I have begun settling back into our house and routines. There are a few less of us this semester, so our house seems so big and quiet! Nontheless, it's always fun setting up house together. I'm also beginning to enjoy my classes so far, taking some that really interest me, like Sign Language and Script Analysis as well as a brand new Leadership class. I also have a four hour math night class, but, it only lasts half the semester! Already Rockhurst has had tons of fun oppurtunities around campus, with auditions for this spring's De Donde this past week and SAB's $3 movie night last night. So much going on already! I'm really looking forward to this semester, and all Rockhurst has to offer!

Welcome Home 405! Julia and I, happily reunited!
