This week has been a very busy week for me. Not only was it the week of Valentines day, I also had a lot going on with school and in my personal life. My father was in town the later part of this week, coming into Kansas City a couple times during a visit to Whiteman AFB in Kansas. I very much enjoyed being able to see my dad, especially since being far away from home usually doesn't allow for seeing my family very often. I also had rehersals this week for De Donde, which appears to be coming along smoothly. De Donde in RU theatre's social justice piece for the year, telling the story of asylum seekers coming to the United States. Beyond theatre and family was the usualy hustle and bustle of classes. This past Tuesday in sing language class we had a group known as the BEST (Beyond the Eastern Star Theatre) Network come and perform for our class during a valentines party. The group sang and danced and also did a few numbers using only sign; it was very beautiful and inspirational. We then combined groups and worked on valentines that were taken to a local Children's hospital, a fun and rewarding activity. I am glad to be able to work closely with such a caring and hard working teacher. Another interesting activity occured in my Psychology of Law class this wednesday, with my teacher creating a scenario to help us recognize the requirements and difficulties of eye witnesses and the reports they make. I enjoy taking part in such different classes were material is presented in new and exciting ways, beyond just lecture notes and regular discussions. Hands on activities such as the one in psych of law this week really keep students on their toes! My week was rounded off with an out of schedule meeting of my leadership class on Friday afternoon. Our small but mighty group gathered in the Convocation center to take part in several fun and thought provoking activities to better understand and cultivate our own leadership styles, as well as come together as a group to explore all of our potential. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, and a good time as well! Now, time to hit the books for a brand new week!
Hannah sure has the studying spirit!
